Vacaville, CA – Travis Credit Union (TCU) is proud to announce its continued partnership with the IRS and United Way of the Bay Area to provide the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program to Solano County! VITA focuses on our underserved communities, helping them take advantage of credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC). Many community members don’t realize these tax credits may make them eligible for a refund, representing money going back to the community members in need of such funds.

2020 Financial Education Forum, hosted by Travis Credit Union

Vacaville, CA – On January 17, 2020, Travis Credit Union (TCU) held the 14th annual Financial Education Forum at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California. The forum provided youth who have experienced financial barriers to post-secondary education with information on financial aid. TCU hosted the event in partnership with the Contra Costa County Office of Education, California Student Aid Commission, and Diablo Valley College. This year, nearly 250 foster and homeless students from nine local high schools in Contra Costa County attended.

Vacaville, CA – What could have been another lazy summer day in 2019 was instead a life-changing moment in time for a 12 year-old Napa teen, named Cooper. Cooper’s mom, Teri, had found an event on Facebook that she thought might be interesting - a free financial education workshop for youth was scheduled nearby. Cooper, his 15 year-old brother and a friend spent that afternoon at a Mad City Money seminar, hosted by Travis Credit Union.
