Credit Card FAQs

We've answered some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about Credit Card Experience Enhancements.  Click on the question below to read the answer.

3D Secure (3DS) Authentication

3D Secure, also known as 3DS, is a technical standard created by Visa that adds an additional layer of protect to online debit card and credit card transactions.

When enabled, 3DS provides a 2-step authentication process for online purchases to prevent payment card fraud. To complete a purchase, TCU cardholders will have to enter a unique code to complete an online transaction with merchants who use 3DS.

Travis Credit Union will automatically activate 3DS for TCU debit and credit cardholders. This will allow you to make purchases at merchants that require the added layer of security for check out.

If you’re attempting to make an online purchase with a merchant who uses 3DS, you will be prompted to receive a code, once received to your number on file, please enter the code with the merchant before it expires.

3DS adds a layer of protection for both the consumer and the retailer against fraud.

Payment Information

Your payment experience will change. Because of these new enhancements, your new billing due date is the 24th of each month. When you make a payment, you will be able to view the increase in your available credit in real time. Your credit card payment will post in 24 to 48 hours.

The easiest way to make a payment is through the TCU Online Banking or Mobile Banking App if transferring from a TCU Checking or Savings account. All payments made from your Travis account will have immediate access to your funds on your TCU credit card. Your payments will not reflect on your credit card for 24 to 48 hours, but you will see an increase in your available credit for the amount of the transaction.

If you would like to make a payment from another institution, please visit the Make A Payment option in MyCardInfo. By entering your checking or savings account information from another institution, you can have a payment posted to your account within a few business days.

Also, you can make a payment by stopping in at your local Travis Credit Union branch or by mailing payment to the address provided on the Make a Payment page. If you have any questions, please contact our Member Service Center by using the information on the Contact Us page of the Help and Information menu.

Yes. Your member credit card account number will change (but not your actual credit card number on your plastic card). The member credit card account number can be found on your first statement in September, or in Online and Mobile Banking. If you have Alerts, Bill Pay or Automatic Payments setup within Online Banking, however, you will not have to update anything. We will update everything for you.

If you pay your Travis Credit Union credit card from a checking account at another financial institution, your ACH payment will now be processed on the 24th of each month, instead of the 21st, beginning on Sept. 24, 2020.

If you pay your bill online through another financial institution, you'll need to update the payment address and your member account number prior to making your October 2020 payment. The member account number can be found on your first statement in September, or in Online and Mobile Banking. See the Q&A for how and when to access your new member account number.

Yes, there will be a new payment address:

Travis Credit Union,
Post Office Box 37035,
Boone, IA 50037-0035

The due date will change slightly. Instead of your bill being due on the 21st of each month, we’re giving you an extra three days in the month of September. After that time, your billing cycle will be on the 24th of each month.

You won’t see the payment credit for 24 to 48 hours, but you will see the change to your available credit immediately.

Credit card payments received between Sept. 18-20 will post on Sept. 21, 2020.

Your full account number can be located on the bottom of your credit card statement. It is the first 16 digits listed.
