Holiday Giving
December is a time for giving and Travis Credit Union takes that sentiment seriously. We love the communities we serve and work every day to help, but during the holidays it makes it extra special. Here are the ways we gave to our community during the holiday season.
- Operation Cookie Drop with Travis Air Force Base
- Toys for Tots
- Christmas Wish
- Children’s Miracle Network Christmas Stocking campaign
- Food Barrels for the Food Banks of Contra Costa and Solano counties
- Festival of Trees for Travis Fisher House and Opportunity Junction
- Sacramento National Cemetery Wreath Laying
We Hiked The Hill
Last September, our Corporate Relations team visited Washington D.C. to advocate on behalf of our members. Behind the scenes, we are very active in making sure your financial interests are heard and protected. One of our highlights was meeting with six members of the House of Representatives on important topics such as regulatory relief and data security.
Financial Education Forum
Hundreds of high school students gathered on Oct. 20 for a Cal Grant Presentation hosted by Travis Credit Union at the University of California, Davis ARC Ballroom. TCU proudly supports this campaign to provide financial aid information to students that will help them understand how Cal Grants and Financial Ed can enable them to attend college and reach their dreams.
The Mayor's Gala to Benefit "The Leaven"
The Mayor’s Gala by Kaiser Permanente took place on Sept. 17 at The Meritage in Napa. The money raised to support The Leaven at this event has allowed the opening of new centers, as well as fund many currently operating centers.
Blended Retirement Classes at Travis Air Force Base
Since July, we have been working in conjunction with the Family Readiness Center to educate airmen about blended retirement. We will continue to focus on the subject in the First Term Airmen Classes which take place every second Thursday at the Educational Center, base bldg. 249.
Purple Heart Homes
Purple Heart Homes Campaign Operation Veteran Home Renovation encourages credit unions to help older veterans with needed home modifications. This year the generosity of TCU and the assistance from community volunteers helped the Shoop brothers renovate their bathrooms. Both are residents of Vacaville and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Travis Credit Union is dedicated to making a difference in the communities we serve thorough an investment of financial resources and human involvement. We are committed to improving the financial lives of our members and neighbors through financial literacy, advocacy and education.
