Travis Is Responding To Community Needs!

Travis Credit Union announced it will match $4M in donations made to the Travis Credit Union Foundation to assist local charities that provide much-needed services to families and children impacted by COVID-19. Q: What is Travis Credit Union’s Awesome Cause?
A: Travis Credit Union’s Awesome Cause is changing lives and lifting communities through financial wellness.

Q: How does this Awesome Cause translate into community action and help for our members during these uncertain times?
A: In addition to providing members with financial disaster relief loans and services, Travis is generously meeting critical financial needs in our local communities by giving $1,000,000 to non-profit partners in the community who are helping people impacted by COVID-19. To help even more, TCU will match up to $4,000,000 raised by the Travis Credit Union Foundation.

A: The Travis Credit Union Foundation is a public charity committed to building financially empowered communities.

Q: How does the Foundation plan to carry out its mission?
A: Financial wellness looks different today than it did at the beginning of the year. Our priorities are aligned with current financial wellness needs in the communities we serve. The Travis Credit Union Foundation is raising funds for local charities in our communities. These charities are providing much-needed services for individuals and families impacted by COVID-19.

Community needs are enormous right now. Due to the coronavirus, people are out of work and children are out of school. The financial stress from losing family income is a heavy burden to carry. The Foundation is committed to lifting communities through this pandemic and assuring them that, during this difficult time, we stand together.

Q: If TCU already has an Awesome Cause, why create a Foundation?
A: The Travis Credit Union Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Travis Credit Union. Travis Credit Union is limited by its membership in the work that it does in the community. The Foundation can raise unlimited amounts of funds, allowing TCU to do even more. It also provides our members with an opportunity to give locally to programs that are helping people in their communities.

Q: What is the Foundation doing for our communities during these uncertain times?
A: The Travis Credit Union Foundation is raising funds for organizations supporting residents living in: Alameda, Colusa, Contra Costa, Merced, Napa, Placer, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Solano, Sonoma, Stanislaus, and Yolo counties.

Q: What is the long-range plan for the Foundation?
A: Our vision is to create philanthropic solutions to build sustainable financial wellness in our communities for generations to come. To work toward our vision, the Foundation will continue to raise funds for financial education, literacy, and wellness.

Dimpel Sandhu is the Fundraising and Development Director for the Travis Credit Union Foundation. She’s been with the foundation since September 2019 and is passionate about serving people and raising funds for programs and initiatives which help to improve the lives of the vulnerable and underserved. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, she has been raising funds for nonprofit organizations for 20 years.
