New auto models slowly roll out to market

New cars have a specific scent and style about them when the roll off the dealer lot. They’re the cleanest car on the road with a full life ahead of them – barring any major accidents. As the 2017 model year rolls out to dealerships, here are a few things to keep in mind as you prepare to make a new car purchase.

Self-driving cars coming into play

Who has wanted to take their hands off the wheel when on the road and let the car drive itself? Just like the episode of The Simpsons, when Homer and Bart sit on the hood of a big rig on the highway, that dream is slowly becoming a reality for some vehicle owners, including those with Teslas. Today, some manufacturers provide an option for a self-automation system for its vehicles, where the driver can operate the vehicle hands free. Auto brands such as Audi and even mega-companies such as Google plan on introducing self-driving cars in the future.

Scions off the road – technically

The Scion franchise was discontinued by Toyota in 2016, however, three of the vehicles were rebranded as Toyotas and given different titles. They’re currently offered as “Scion by Toyota”, and the three vehicles offered are the Yaris iA, Corolla iM and 86, all in 2016 models. You can check them out on their website.

Minivans still a thing

For parents busy busing kids around to school, practice and parties, minivans are still a hot commodity. U.S. News & World Report ranked the Honda Odyssey and the debuting Chrysler Pacifica as the best minivans on the market. The Odyssey has been in production since 1994. The Pacifica is turning heads even though it hasn’t hit the road yet. That minivan is the new edition of the Chrysler Town & Country that the company has revamped and has earned praised among critics in the auto industry.

Keep an eye for these hot new models
