TCU and Northbay Healthcare Fund Scholarships

During the summer, Travis Credit Union had the exciting opportunity to partner with Northbay Healthcare in funding scholarships for Touro University California Nursing Students. This partnership includes awarding six individual $5,000 scholarships to deserving nurses attending Touro University’s School of Nursing.

“Travis Credit Union is built on the principle of ‘People Helping People,’” said Barry Nelson, President and CEO of Travis Credit Union. This value that TCU has stood by for many decades remains vibrant today, he said, adding that Travis is honored to be a part of helping others continue their education.

With the rising costs of higher education, these scholarships will make a huge difference in someone’s life. “Financial aid sometimes is the difference,” said Kathy Richerson, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Northbay Healthcare. “This scholarship program could propel the careers of gifted nurses who otherwise could not take the next step in their professional development.” These scholarships will allow for many RN’s to continue their education as well as better serve the communities they live and work in.

At Touro University’s School of Nursing, students can earn an Associate Degree in Nursing up to a Master of Science in Nursing. To apply for this scholarship, applicants must be a Touro University California student in good standing, a member of Travis Credit Union, employed at least 70% full time hours as a registered nurse with Northbay Healthcare and be an active, contributing member of the Solano County community.
