Suisun Branch handles high-capacity small town traffic

When members walk into our Suisun Branch, the first thing they’ll notice are the smiles on the faces of our employees. According to a senior team member, this is a regular occurrence. “This is every day,” says Evelyn, a Senior Member Service Representative who has worked at Travis for 34 years.

That’s a tough environment to beat, and Evelyn can attest, as she has worked at many different Travis branches over the years. The welcoming atmosphere is something she believes keeps members coming back to this busy branch. Those members range from military servicemen to Fairfield Suisun Unified School District employees and even gym-goers at the nearby InShape.

They return regularly and bring others to Travis through word-of-mouth recommendations.

“Members come back and tell their friends and families about us,” Branch Manager Michele said. “We see people who didn’t even know we were here come into the branch and notice that we’re a functioning branch. We get a lot of people walking in that just live in the area.”

Michele says her branch tellers process an average of 2,000 transactions per month. Her team of Member Service Representatives and Financial Service Representatives also open around 50 to 60 new accounts per month.

“Even though we’re small, our flow of traffic is that of a larger branch,” Michele said.

Several branch employees say that members who visit regularly wait for their favorite branch representative to be available to help them, not only for transactions but to discuss their lives as well. Malila, who along with Michele are the only two who have remained at the branch since its opening, say the regular members of the branch pickup on changes quick.

“They know when there’s a change. They love seeing our faces,” Malila said.

Michele says the convenience of the branch is a major selling point. Suisun City is separate from Fairfield, despite its short proximity to its sister city. The train tracks often prove to be the divider between the two, and the Suisun Branch is the only one within its general city limits.

The branch has noticed an uptick in traffic after Westamerica Bank closed its Suisun Branch in February 2017. Residents in the general vicinity of our Suisun Branch appear to enjoy the convenience of having a financial institution a few minutes away from their home, and are recognizing that Travis is a place they can turn to for all of their financial needs.
