Travis is proud to bring free financial education to our communities in the 12 counties we serve. As California began facing the challenges of the coronavirus and implementing restrictions on gatherings, we paused our seminars to consider how to continue our mission of financial education in this new era of cautions.
Committed to Free Financial Education
Barry Nelson, president and CEO of Travis Credit Union, announced, “We remain committed to the Awesome Cause of free financial education and making a difference in the lives of the people we serve.” And with that, we migrated our public, in-person seminars to webinars via Zoom, for adults and youth, in English and in Spanish.
These informative and practical presentations included opportunities to engage and interact through questions and polls, and were updated with information about current financial issues arising from the pandemic. Topics included “Budgeting through Covid-19” and “Rebuilding after a Financial Crisis.”

Travis will hold more live webinars through the end of 2020, such as:
- “Cash for College” workshop, where high school seniors and their families can receive direct support to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Dream Act Application

- “Holiday Spectacular” for youth, testing knowledge of money and budgeting in a fun format
