Travis Credit Union was founded in 1951 on Travis Air Force Base to support the local community.
Today, it serves 12 Northern California counties, and is the 12th largest credit union in California, with 245,000 members and nearly $5 billion in assets. Anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in any of the 12 counties it serves is eligible to become a member.
It offers members a range of products and services to support every stage of their financial journey. Whether that’s opening a savings or checking account, buying a car, saving for college, purchasing a home, or planning for retirement.
As a nonprofit organization, Travis Credit Union has been recognized at the federal, state and local levels for its longstanding financial education and financial advocacy efforts. In addition to receiving the Readers’ Choice Award for the Daily Republic, it was selected as a Best-In-State Credit Union by Forbes in 2022 and has earned the U.S. Air Force Distinguished Credit Union of the Year award in recent years.
Runners-up: Valley Strong Credit Union; Navy Federal Credit Union
