This past May, our Real Estate team finalized a mortgage for a couple who just a few months earlier didn’t even think it was possible for them to become homeowners. After attending one of our free homebuying seminars, they were encouraged and applied for a home loan. They were ecstatic when the loan was approved.

“We can’t say thank you enough!"

You have been calm, professional, knowledgeable and encouraging throughout the entire process,” the couple wrote. “We know this is ‘What you do’, but for us, this has been our world for the past several weeks and it’s now part of our future and we’re so thankful to have had you walk this path with us!”

Stories like these reinforce that what we do at Travis Credit Union has a real impact on the lives of our members. Our employees want to learn more about you so they can help you with your financial needs. We strive to make these conversations count, no matter if they occur at a seminar, a branch, over the phone or online.

Transformed branches

Pat and I are excited to welcome members to our newly renovated branches in Atwater and Vaca Commons. Members will notice transformed interiors that are designed to make our one-on-one conversations even easier. We’ll be transforming more of our branches to the same open concept in the years to come. We’d love to hear your feedback on what you think of them.

As part of our Vaca Commons renovation, we’ve also created an entirely new and separate space to help members with their investment and insurance needs. Members can now enjoy private, comfortable and convenient financial consultations at our new Wealth Management Center.

A day of training

Of course, it’s our people, not our branches and offices that make Travis special. Our employees are at the very heart of the credit union and our success comes from making Travis a great place to work.

To help ensure our management and staff remain focused on serving our membership, all employees gather for a day of unity and training each October. This day is typically filled with motivational presentations, workshops, recognition, surprises and other activities that help reaffirm our commitment to you.

Coincidentally, October 19 is International Credit Union Day. This year’s theme is “Dreams Thrive Here.” Just as Travis assisted the couple mentioned in this column with their dream of homeownership, we are here to help you with your wish list of financial goals.

On behalf of our volunteer directors, managers and employees, Pat and I wish you the very best this holiday season and in the new year!
