(11/02/2012) VACAVILLE, CA¾ As many military families are spending another holiday season separated from a loved one or family members many are wishing they were home.
Travis Credit Union is offering active and retired military families an opportunity to take a few minutes to let them know how much they care. Make their holiday come alive by surprising them with a personally recorded Internet Video Greeting Card courtesy of Travis Credit Union’s Operation Best Wishes.
“Operation Best Wishes is an annual campaign held during the holiday season to help military families stay connected in a very memorable way,” stated Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, president and CEO of Travis Credit Union. “This is a great program not only for our deployed military members but for anyone who is geographically separated from their loved ones who are currently or who have previously served,” said Patsy Van Ouwerkerk, president and CEO, Travis Credit Union.
Operation Best Wishes differs from Skype and other Web-based communications in that the video greeting cards are produced by using a green backdrop—similar to TV newscasts showing the weather reports. It enables families to be superimposed over holiday animations, something not easily accomplished at home.
Just stop by Travis Credit Union’s TAFB branch with your special holiday props on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 11 a.m.—2 p.m. or the Deployed Spouses Dinner that evening at the
Delta Breeze Club from 5 p.m.—7:30 p.m. to video record your personalized greeting and create your card. Better yet, reserve your own recording session (up to 10-minutes in length) by visiting www.OperationsBestWishes.com. Travis Credit Union will do the rest.
We’ll e-mail you a special password to view the greeting on the Operation Best Wishes website. We’ll even e-mail the special password to your deployed loved one. Share the same password with parents, family members and friends as well, and just like that you’re holiday greeting will now become a unique greeting card for all.
“Many military members are stationed far away from their hometowns and family members may be anywhere in the world. We are proud to be able to support our military community in this way and happy to be able to bring Operation Best Wishes to Travis Credit Union here in Northern California,” stated Van Ouwerkerk.
