In our continuing effort to provide extra convenience to members in
managing your accounts at the credit union, the following are some of
the special services available at our full-service branches:
American Express Traveler ChequesTM
When you’re planning to travel for business or pleasure, American
Express Traveler Cheques provide an added level of security if you
happen to lose your wallet. You can have your lost cheques reissued by
reporting the loss to an 800-number, where you’ll be directed to the
nearest representative. The cheques can be purchased at any full-service
branch in various denominations and with single- or double-signature
authority. American Express Gift ChequesTM
Any time you want to acknowledge a special occasion with a cash gift, an
American Express Gift Cheque is the ideal solution, due in part to their
decorative gold design and formal presentation. Cheques are available in
$25, $50, and $100 denominations. They can be used as cash anywhere, and
are registered at the time of purchase. Money Orders
For those occasions when you need to assure payment through a financial
institution, we can help. Money orders, up to $1,000, are often requested for large
purchases, such as vehicles, down payments, and personal investments.
They are sometimes also preferred as payment for purchases across state
lines when personal ID is harder to verify. Teller checks can be used
for amounts larger than $1,000. Notary Public Services
Notary Public services are available to validate identity and
second-party witnessing on legal papers and documents.

Customization
Check Cards and ATM Cards
You’ll receive your initial Check Card or ATM Card at the branch when
you open your savings and checking accounts. At that time you may
request a particular personal identification number (PIN), which is an
essential code for accessing funds electronically with the card. When
your Check Card or ATM Card is reissued, it will be mailed to your
residence. You may change your PIN at any full-service branch
during business hours.
Credit Cards
When credit cards are initially issued through the credit union, they
arrive in the mail earlier than the pre-assigned personal identification
number (PIN). Separate mailing of your PIN insures against wrongful
account access. A PIN is sent to you for taking cash advances from an
ATM. You may pick another PIN at any full-service branch during business
hours if you prefer a different code, or simply want to change your PIN
regularly as a hedge against wrongful access to the account.
Stop Payment Requests
Stop payments are generally placed on lost or stolen checks. You can
request a stop payment on a personal check by calling the Member Service
Center or visiting a Travis Credit Union branch. You will need to
provide the following information: check number, date written, exact
amount, and payee. If the amount and check number are not exact, the
check may be paid. A stop payment cannot be placed on an item that has
already been presented. Stop payment orders generally expire after 6
months and a fee usually applies. For further information regarding stop
payments or stop payment fees please refer to Checking Account
Disclosure by clicking on the Disclosures and Agreements link at the
bottom of this page.
